Barbara A. (Christman) Holst (1936 – 2026)

Barbara A. (Christman) Holst, 89, of Springfield Township, Bucks County, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026, at St. Luke’s Grandview Hospital, East Rockhill Township. She was the beloved wife of the late Rev. E. Frederick Holst, who preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 2024. Born in Allentown on April 1, 1936, Barbara was a daughter of the late Alton and Geraldine (Repley) Christman. She devoted her professional life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse, working in the health care field at various hospitals throughout New York. As the wife of a minister, she wholeheartedly supported her husband’s ministry and the many church families they served, offering kindness, encouragement and compassion throughout the years.
SURVIVORS
She is survived by her three daughters: Diane M. (Paul A.) Chabarek of Parkland, Fla.; Susan H. (Christopher C.) Hoover of Hamburg, N.Y.; and BethAnne (Mark A.) Johnson of Liverpool, N.Y. She is also survived by her sister, Jane Harding, formerly of Center Valley; eleven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
SERVICES
Private services will be held at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown, and will be followed by an interment at Zion Hill Cemetery, Zion Hill. A memorial service will be celebrated May 2, with a time to be announced at Zion Hill Lutheran Church, Zion Hill.
