Janet Lou Fischer (1958 – 2026)

Janet Lou Fischer, 67, of Lower Macungie Township, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026. She was the beloved wife of Frederick H. Fischer. Born in Allentown on Nov. 18, 1958, Janet was the daughter of the late Robert M. and Bernice (Spangler) Stahley. Janet devoted her life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse. She worked for many years at Lehigh Valley Hospital until her retirement in 2016. Her compassion extended beyond her career, through her volunteer service with Lehigh Valley Hospice. Janet also had a lifelong love of gymnastics, which brought her great joy.

SURVIVORS

She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Frederick; her children, Erin L. (Ken F.) McCormick of Springfield and Greg H. (Colleen A.) Fischer of Coopersburg; her grandchildren, Weston and Malcolm; and her siblings, Nelson D. (Patricia) Stahley of Fogelsville, Robert M. (Anne) Stahley of Whitehall and Sally Ann (Dennis G.) Koehler of Lower Saucon Township. She was predeceased by her brother, Rodney Stahley.

SERVICES

Family and friends are invited to a visitation period from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026, at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown, PA 18055. The visitation period will be followed by a service at 11 a.m. Interment will be at The Memorial Gardens at the Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
