Gary Lee ‘Shocker’ Schoch (1971 – 2026)

Gary Lee “Shocker” Schoch, 54, of Hellertown, passed away Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Bethlehem on March 1, 1971, Gary was the son of Carol “Cookie” L. (Hersh) Bowers and John Bowers of Hellertown and Gary M. Schoch and wife Jean of Zionsville. Gary worked for over 10 years as a diesel mechanic with Yocum Towing and Recovery in Allentown, where he was known for his strong work ethic, mechanical skill and willingness to help anyone in need. A true motorsports enthusiast, Gary loved racing and anything with four wheels on the track. Whether watching, working on or talking about cars, he found joy and excitement in the world of racing and shared that passion with those around him. Gary lived for his daughters and his family.
SURVIVORS
Gary is survived by his parents and their spouses; his daughters, Skyra A. Schoch and Amber R. Schoch; sister, Jessica L. Bowers (Matt Leith), all of Hellertown; nephews, Garrett Blase and Brayden Leith; great nephew, Luca Blase; uncle and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents and aunt.
SERVICES
Family and friends are invited to call from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026 at Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown, PA 18055. The calling hour will be followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment will take place at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
