Police: Who Struck Mailbox on Black River Road?

Lower Saucon Township Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident in which a mailbox and yard were damaged Friday.

According to a post on the department’s Crimewatch site, the accident happened at 4:11 p.m. in the 2500 block of Black River Road, which is in the area of Peach Tree Lane.

Police said a maroon Nissan Juke that was westbound left its lane of travel and drove through a front yard at that time.

“The Nissan damaged the mailbox and the front lawn of the residence, then left the scene,” they said.

Police shared a home security photo which shows the vehicle traversing the snow-covered yard as the mailbox becomes airborne. The person who was driving the photo is indistinguishable even after enhancement using photo editing software.

Anyone with information about the driver or crash is being asked to contact Lower Saucon Police at 610-759-2200 or submit a tip through the Crimewatch site.
