Mary Kniha Martinez (1935 – 2026)

Mary Kniha Martinez, 90, of Hellertown, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Holy Family Senior Living, Bethlehem. Born in Bethlehem on April 16, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Anna F. (Topechek) Kniha. Mary was the beloved wife of the late Michael Martinez, with whom she shared 47 years of marriage before his passing. Mary dedicated much of her working life to food service, serving as a manager at Stabler Arena in Bethlehem for 35 years until her retirement. She was known for her strong work ethic, friendly personality and the many relationships she built during her years there. A faithful member of the Church of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus in Hellertown, Mary also generously gave her time as a volunteer at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem and at St. Theresa’s School. Mary found her greatest joy in spending time with her family. She also enjoyed playing bingo, dining out with family and friends, and making trips to Ocean City, N.J., a place that brought her much happiness and relaxation.
SURVIVORS
She is survived by her daughter, Michele A. Linsky and her husband Donald P. of Lower Saucon Township; her son, Matthew J. Martinez and his companion Jill A. Tammero of Bethlehem; her brother, James J. Kniha of Hellertown; and four grandchildren, Dana, Marisa, Morgan and Tyler.
SERVICES
Family and friends are invited to call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Theresa’s Parish, 1408 Easton Road, Hellertown. Interment will conclude at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. A funeral repast will be held at the Carriage House at Heintzelmans immediately following the graveside service.
