LeRoy E. “Willie” Sutton (1935 – 2026)

LeRoy E. “Willie” Sutton, 90, formerly of Lower Saucon Township and most recently of DuBois, passed away Monday, March 16, 2026 at DuBois Village. He was the husband of the late Shirley (Homer) Sutton, who died Dec. 2, 2022. Born in Lower Saucon Township on May 22, 1935, he was the son of the late William and Anna (Wolbach) Sutton. LeRoy served his country faithfully in the United States Army from 1957 to 1958 and continued his service in the Army Reserves from 1958 to 1966. He was employed as an electrician at the former Bethlehem Steel, where he worked for many years until retiring in 1996. Known for his generosity and commitment to helping others, LeRoy was also a dedicated blood donor and became the first apheresis (platelet) donor to reach 100 gallons donated at Miller-Keystone Blood Center. In his leisure time, he enjoyed tending to his yard and small garden and playing softball with his son. He pitched well into his late 60s and helped his teams to many championships. The pride of his life is his granddaughter Abigail, and he loved sharing her accomplishments with everyone he knew.
SURVIVORS
He is survived by his son, Andrew Sutton, and his wife Linda, with whom he resided; and his granddaughter, Abigail. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Betty K. (Schlicher) Ernst, Carl Sutton and Kenneth Sutton.
SERVICES
