The Saucon Valley Farmers Market’s 21st season began Sunday in Hellertown with an opening day lineup that featured more than 20 local food vendors, live music, kids activities and a new Taste-It Tent. An opening day ceremony during which Mayor David Heintzelman and state Rep. Bob Freeman wished the market continued success was watched by dozens of supporters.
The market first opened in 2006 in the parking lot of what is now Truist bank on Main Street in Hellertown. When it outgrew that location it was held in Water Street Park, before moving to its current home next to the Hellertown Area Library.
Run entirely by volunteers with support from local sponsors, Saucon Valley Farmers Market is open Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and runs through Sunday, Nov. 22, 2026. In addition to the weekly lineup of vendors and live music, the market also hosts special events throughout the season, including the Dog Days of Summer, Salsa Fest and Halloween at the market.
The market is dog-friendly and is equipped with a portable restroom as well as picnic tables. At the market information booth, there are other amenities available. Visitors can also enter the market’s sunflower contest by picking up seeds at the booth.
