Lower Saucon Police Investigating Gunfire Incident Along Lehigh River

Lower Saucon Township Police are investigating an incident in which two people were reportedly shot at near the Lower Saucon-Bethlehem Township border along the Lehigh River.

On Monday, township police said they received a report that “an unknown individual discharged a firearm in their direction from Riverside Drive in Lower Saucon Township” at approximately 4:51 p.m. Saturday. They said the report of shots fired originated in the 2200 block of Riverside Drive, and that officers from both townships responded to the area.

According to a Morning Call story, the individuals who reported being fired upon were kayaking in the river around the time of the incident.

Lower Saucon Police said officers searched the area, and so far have not identified a suspect or made any arrests in the case.

Monday’s Crimewatch post said that the incident remains under active investigation.
