Rita M. (Matosek) Heidecker (1940 – 2026)

Rita M. (Matosek) Heidecker, 86, formerly of Allentown, of Salisbury Township, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Rittenhouse Village at Lehigh Valley. She was the loving wife of the late Nicholas W. Heidecker, who preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 2014. Born in Allentown on June 14, 1940, Rita was the daughter of the late Morris and Mary (Ruby) Matosek. She spent her career working for the former Western Electric, Allentown. Rita was a loving wife and a wonderful mother. She will be remembered for her kindness and loving soul. Above all else, family was the most important part of Rita’s life. She was an avid reader who had a deep love for music and a special affection for her cats.

SURVIVORS

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Donna L. Gross and her husband Michael, and Linda G. Ressler and her husband Paul, all of Allentown; her three cherished grandsons, Nate and his wife Maurie, Nick, and Alec and Elizabeth Thompson; her five adored great-grandchildren: Marlena, Jonathan, Maxwell, Miles and Carson; and siblings: Deborah and her husband Dennis Kleckner of Bethlehem, Marylou Sonka of Lehigh Valley.

SERVICES

Family and friends are invited to call from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the interment at the Union Cemetery of Hellertown. Online expressions of sympathy and comforting memories may be shared with the family at Heintzelmancares.com.
