Bucks Co. Homeowners Warned About Misleading Deed Mailings

Residents in Bucks County are being cautioned to look out for misleading mailings related to property deeds.

Bucks County Recorder of Deeds Robin Robinson’s office said several companies are sending official-looking notices to people who have recently purchased property.

The office said the mailings are designed to mislead residents into believing they must purchase a copy of their deed through the outside vendors.

The private companies sending the letters are charging fees for deed services and have no affiliation with the Bucks County Recorder of Deeds Office or any other government agency.

According to county officials, the third-party companies seek processing fees that exceed $100 for a property deed copy.

An official copy of a deed is available directly through the county row office for less than $10.

Officials told residents not to respond to or contact the soliciting companies.

Anyone who has questions or needs to obtain a copy of their property deed is advised to contact the Bucks County Recorder of Deeds office at 215-348-6209.
