Ralph B. Urmy (1930 – 2026)

Ralph B. Urmy, 95, of Upper Saucon Township, passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 21, 2026, at The Villages at LifeQuest in Quakertown. He was the beloved husband of the late Jean M. (Miller) Urmy, with whom he shared many wonderful years before her passing on Nov. 6, 2009. Born in Coopersburg on Aug. 22, 1930, Ralph was the son of the late Marvin E. and Edna A. (Moose) Urmy. A lifelong dedicated farmer, Ralph grew up working as a dairy farmer, showing Brown Swiss dairy cattle, before transitioning to raising beef later in life. His devotion to agriculture extended deep into the community as a member and 20-year leader of the Lehigh County 4-H Dairy Calf Club. Ralph was a former member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Coopersburg. An avid fan of baseball and an enthusiast of modern square dancing, he embraced life with a strong work ethic and a warm sense of community.

SURVIVORS

He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Daryl G. Urmy (Cheryl A.) of Coopersburg, Gary L. Urmy of Boyertown, Bryan R. Urmy (Maureen P.) of Coopersburg, Gayle C. Wuesthoff (Andrew W.) of Virginia Beach, Va. He is also survived by 2 granddaughters, 4 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Ralph was predeceased by his siblings: Lorraine Urmy, Evelyn Toepfer and William S. Urmy.

SERVICES

Family and friends are invited to a visitation calling period on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. Monday’s calling period will be followed by the service at 11 a.m. Immediately following the service, a funeral repast will be held at The Carriage House at Heintzelmans. Interment will take place at 3 p.m. at Woodland Cemetery, Upper Saucon Township. Online expressions of sympathy and condolences may be shared at Heintzelmancares.com.
