● NEW DIRECTOR OF CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTION, SAFETY & SECURITY COORDINATOR: Dr. Deanna Webb has previously served SLSD as Assistant Principal and Principal at Joseph P. Liberati Intermediate School. She holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Administration.
● 2nd ANNUAL GRANDPARENTS BREAKFAST at SLMS: The school’s NJHS committee is hard at work preparing for a special morning celebrating the amazing grandparents in the SLSD community. This event wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of families. Please consider donating to help give back to the wonderful grandparents who mean so much to SLMS students. ● CALLING ALL SLMS MATH ENTHUSIASTS: MathCounts is open to students in grades 7 to 8 who enjoy solving problems, challenging themselves and having fun with math. The first meeting will be Thursday, Sept. 10, in Room 106 with Mr. Viola. The group will meet before school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Learn more at https://tinyurl.com/mrm8c77f.
● NEW ASSISTANT SLSD SUPERINTENDENT: Dr. Tamara Solometo joined SLSD in 2022 and previously served as Elementary Instructional Coach and Director of Curriculum and Instruction for grades K-12. She holds a Doctorate in K-12 Educational Administration.
● NEW PRINCIPAL OF SOUTHERN LEHIGH MS: Dr. Michael Faccinetto previously served as Assistant Principal at Southrn Lehigh MS and as a 5th grade teacher. He holds a Doctorate of Educational Leadership, a Master’s in Elementary Education and a K-12 Principal Certification.
Southern Lehigh School News is a regular feature highlighting Southern Lehigh School District news and events. Located in east central Pennsylvania, the district enrolls approximately 3,000 students from Coopersburg, Upper Saucon Township and Lower Milford Township.
