Fifteen years ago at 8:46 a.m. American Airlines Flight 11 was heinously hijacked and disgracefully navigated into New York City’s World Trade Center’s North Tower.  At 9:02 a.m. United Airlines Flight 175 hit the South Tower.  Almost 3,000 people died that day including hundreds of first responders who made the ultimate unselfish sacrifice.  It was a day that brought the world to a shocking standstill.

This morning at about 9 a.m. members representing Saucon Valley’s first responders have obviously not forgotten.  They will never forget. Many of our hometown heroes suited up wearing 90 pounds of gear and trekked up and down Saucon Valley’s Montford E. Illick stadium steps. In remembrance, the participants zig-zagged the stadium for twelve grueling laps. The entire circuit mirrored the 100 floors the NYC first responders climbed that fateful day. Many to their death.

We should never forget.
