Saucon Boys Soccer Tops Quakertown 2-1, Senior Day Set for Saturday

The Saucon Valley boys varsity soccer team is on a roll. After tying with Salisbury in overtime play Tuesday, the team beat the Quakertown Panthers 2-1 Thursday afternoon.

The Saucon Valley boys varsity soccer team is on a roll.

After tying with Salisbury in overtime play Tuesday, the team beat the Quakertown Panthers 2-1 Thursday afternoon.

Saucon’s Khoa Nguyen scored early in the first half, and Zach Harvey put the ball in the goal later in the first half to bring the score to 2-0 at the half.

Quakertown scored a single point in the second half, but was unable to mount a strong enough offense to overcome the deficit.

The Saucon Valley boys soccer team will celebrate Senior Day on Saturday at 9:45 a.m. The eight senior members of the team will be escorted onto their home field by their parents at that time. The community is invited to come celebrate with them.

The Panthers will then take on Pen Argyl at 10 a.m.

As of Friday the Saucon Boys soccer team is 8-5-2 overall and 6-1-2 in league play.

Coached by Mel Moyer, they are fighting hard for a spot in the upcoming playoffs.
