Lower Saucon Township Police said Sunday that they are seeking information about the owners of a dog that allegedly bit a 14-year-old boy who was jogging on the Saucon Rail Trail near the Reading Drive trailhead Friday at about 5:30 p.m.

According to a news release from police, the dog was medium-sized and brown and bit the boy on his left side, “causing puncture wounds.”

The unidentified man and woman who were walking the dog stopped to apologize to the teen and then continued walking, police said.

Anyone with information about the identity of the owners of the dog is asked to call township police at 610-317-6110 so the boy’s family can find out if the dog is vaccinated against rabies.
