Police Investigating Attempted Burglary at Rt. 309 Gun Shop

Springfield Township Police said Monday they are investigating the attempted burglary of a gun shop on Rt. 309 in the township.

Springfield Township Police said Monday they are investigating the attempted burglary of a gun shop on Rt. 309 in the township.

In a post published on the department’s Crimewatch site, police said the alarm system at Donley’s Gun Shop, 1541 Rt. 309, Quakertown, was activated at 5:52 a.m. Saturday.

“Further investigation revealed that two subjects attempted to gain entry to the business by force but were thwarted by the alarm system and other security measures,” police said.

“The subjects got back into their vehicle (unknown description) which was parked near Route 309, then traveled north on Route 309,” they added.

Police released a store surveillance image (below) that shows one of the suspects wearing a ski mask and peering through the window on an exterior door.
