Theresa A. “Tootie” Reichard (1937 – 2025)
Theresa A. “Tootie” Reichard, 88, of Hellertown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem. Born on New Year’s Day, 1937, in Freemansburg, she brought joy and warmth into the world from the very beginning. She was the daughter of the late George and Agnes (Baron) Yurko, and the beloved wife of the late Calvin N. Reichard Jr., who passed in 2006. Their love story and lifelong partnership were the foundation of a family filled with laughter, loyalty and love. Known by most as “Tootie,” Theresa was a familiar face in the Hellertown community. For three decades, she served neighbors and friends behind the counter of the former Prosser Drug Store, where her friendly smile and kind heart left a lasting impression. Later, she brought that same spirit to Giant Food Stores, where she worked for another 10 years. Theresa was a woman of deep faith and a devoted member of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church in Hellertown. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, bingo nights and time spent surrounded by the ones she loved most. Whether sharing a laugh at family gatherings or sitting quietly holding a grandchild’s hand, Tootie’s presence was a gift. Tootie will be remembered not only for her enduring love for her family but also for her gentle spirit, her kindness to everyone she met and the quiet strength with which she lived her life. She leaves behind a tapestry of memories woven with hugs, laughter and unwavering devotion.
