David L. Cannon (1959 – 2026)

David L. Cannon, 66, of Hellertown, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospice House, Lower Saucon Township. He was the beloved husband of Joanne P. (Hargan) Cannon, with whom he shared 32 years of marriage. Born in Allentown on March 7, 1959, David was the son of the late Edward T. and Joan M. (McCue) Cannon. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during peacetime; a commitment that reflected his strong sense of duty and character. David was employed for many years as a motorcoach driver, working for Perkiomen Tours and the former Bieber Coach Company. He took great pride in his work and enjoyed meeting people from all walks of life. In his free time, David found peace and satisfaction in working with wood; a hobby that allowed him to create with his hands and share his talents with others.

SURVIVORS

In addition to his loving wife, Joanne, David is survived by his daughters, Bobbie Jo (Joe) Sanders of Lakeland, Fla., and Shannon M. Transue of Quakertown; his sister, Cathleen M. Eck (Rev. Michael Eck) of Lavelle; four grandchildren, Donna Leigh, Hope (Jacob Thayres), Alan and Tighe; and one great-grandson, David. He was predeceased by his daughter, Dawn M. Cannon, and his sisters, Cynthia L. Messics-Cannon and Jane E. Johnson.
