Martha Maria Rancke (1937 – 2026)

Martha Marie Rancke, 88, of Hellertown, Pa., passed away on Feb. 6, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Allentown. Born on Feb. 24, 1937, in Easton, Pa., Martha was the daughter of the late Peter and Sophia (Makusczewska) Glovas. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward H. Rancke, and her first husband, John Moore. Martha was smart, sensible and strong. She was a woman whose quiet strength and deep faith guided her life. Family always came first. She cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially the memories made on the family farm. Her grandchildren fondly recall riding horses, sleepovers and the warmth of her presence. She adored her great-grandchildren and took great joy in being part of their lives. Martha was a proud 1954 graduate of Easton High School. A gifted baker, Martha was known for her incredible kiffles and donuts; recipes that became family traditions. She loved baking, gardening, flowers and horses. Her faith was central to who she was, and she lived it daily. She was creative and entrepreneurial, making baskets and handcrafted items from grapevines, which she sold through her shop, The Kiosk. Martha especially loved Christmas and the Nativity, which she joyfully acted out with her grandchildren. She had a playful side as well; she was known to get a kick out of sharing knock-knock jokes. She was a parishioner of the former St. Joseph Catholic Church, Easton, and more recently St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, Hellertown.
