Joan M. Molnar Ashmead (1955 – 2026)

Joan M. Molnar Ashmead, 70, of Lower Saucon Township, Northampton County, passed away Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospital-Bethlehem Campus. She was the loving wife of George J. Ashmead. Born in Bethlehem on April 13, 1955, Joan was the daughter of the late Richard M. and Margaret (Horvath) Hackman. Joan was employed as a bus driver for the Allentown School District until her retirement. Earlier in her career, she worked in the shoe department at Leh’s Department Store. She was of the Lutheran faith.
SURVIVORS
Joan will be lovingly remembered by her husband, George; her children, Leila Raven Marcus of Ravenna, Ohio, Charles W. Molnar of Lower Saucon and Dustin J. Molnar of Arizona; and her cherished grandchild, Gage. She was predeceased by her brothers, Charles and Richard.
SERVICES
Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 2026, at Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by a service at 11 a.m. Interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown. A funeral repast will be held at the Carriage House at Heintzelman’s immediately following the graveside service.
