District Judge Rescinds Resignation
Just a few days after Northampton County District Judge David Tidd–whose court administers justice in Hellertown and Lower Saucon Township–surprised local residents with the announcement that he would resign effective March 1 just a couple months into a second six-year term, he has rescinded his resignation.

Tidd told the newspaper he rethought his decision to step down to focus more attention on his private legal practice and spend more time with family after receiving an outpouring of support from colleagues who asked him to reconsider.
He also said he didn’t want to insult the voters who supported him in the 2015 election, which he said took an emotional toll on him because of a fiercely-contested primary.
A legal opinion from the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts confirmed that he can rescind the resignation and remain at his post, Tidd reportedly told the newspaper.
