Hellertown Legion Needs Volunteers to Help Restore Ballroom

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The Edward H. Ackerman American Legion Post 397 in Hellertown has put out a call seeking volunteers to help with the restoration of its second floor ballroom, which was once a source of both pride and income for the organization.

Volunteer organizer Chris Erdman said the post hopes to be able to reopen the ballroom and have it available for bookings beginning in November.

“Work parties” are being held Tuesdays and Thursdays from around 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., he said.

Volunteers don’t have to be experienced to help with the project, he added.
