Lorrain Lee Cawley, 81, of Hellertown, died Thursday, May 5, 2016 at St. Luke’s University Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Kathryn K. (Jaworski) Cawley. He was born in Hellertown on May 20, 1934 to the late Edith L. (Ruth) and Charles M. Cawley. Lorrain served our country faithfully in the U.S. Army during peacetime. He retired as the Public Works Director for the Borough of Hellertown after working for 40 years. He had also worked part-time after retirement for E.J. Hill and Sons Excavating. Lorrain was a very faithful member of Christ Lutheran Church, Hellertown, serving on several committees, Dewey Fire Co., Hellertown Rod and Gun Club, Springtown Rod and Gun Club, Del-View Rod and Gun Club, Wassergass Bushmen and Grundsow Lodge.

In addition to his loving wife of 55 years; children: Michael L. (Cynthia L.) of Bethlehem, Mary A. (Turan) Erdogan of Spencerport, N.Y.; siblings: Roland D. (Elaine) of Hellertown, John H. of Riegelsville, Wayne D. (Mary Lou) of North East, Lynette R. Yingling of Richmond, Va.; grandchildren: Lauren L. (Brandon) Bier, Courtney L. Cawley, Michal Ann, Malcolm A., Remziye R. and Samuel L. Erdogan. He was predeceased by a sister: Nancy A. Mowrey.
SERVICE
Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2016 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown, and 10:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Christ Lutheran Church, 69 Main St., Hellertown. The Tuesday morning calling hour will be followed by the service at 11 a.m. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
