First UCC church in Hellertown is currently holding a winter clothing drive to benefit local individuals and families in need.
New or gently used winter coats, hats, gloves and scarves can be dropped off at the church office weekdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., or Sunday mornings between 9:15 and noon, when services are being held. The office will be closed Thursday, Nov. 27 and Friday, Nov. 28 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
In addition to the winter clothing drive, the church is also collecting non-perishable food and pet food for the food bank at New Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lower Saucon Township.

A children’s winter coat drive is also being held this holiday season at Salon Mia in Hellertown, National Penn Bank in Hellertown is collecting pet supply/food donations for the Center for Animal Health and Welfare, and the Borough of Hellertown has a dropoff box for household and other items to be donated to the Lehigh Valley Outreach Depot, which will distribute them to local families in need.
