Lower Saucon Man ‘Choked, Bit and Punched’ Woman, Police Say

Est. Read Time: < 1 min

A Lower Saucon Township man was charged with simple assault Thursday, after police said he “choked, bit and punched” a woman during a domestic disturbance.

In a news release, police said the alleged assault by Raymond Shook, of the 2000 block of Riverside Drive, occurred around 2:30 a.m. and left the woman bruised.

After Shook was arrested and taken to the police station, police said he deliberately activated a medical alarm in his cell, in spite of not needing medical attention.

Shook was then also charged with setting off a false alarm, they said.

Following an arraignment before District Judge David Tidd, police said Shook was committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of 10 percent of $20,000 bail.
