The proposed PennEast natural gas pipeline will be discussed at two Lehigh Valley Planning Commission meetings this week.
The LVPC’s Environment Committee will discuss the pipeline and hear a presentation by Larry Godlasky of UGI Energy Services/Gasmark in the LVPC Conference Room, 961 Marcon Blvd., Suite 310, Allentown, on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at noon.
Then, on Thursday, Dec. 18, the LVPC will receive a report about the pipeline and its potential impacts on the local environment from the Environment Committee.
That meeting will also be held at 11 a.m. in the conference room at the offices on Marcon Boulevard in Allentown.
Both meetings are open to the public.
Those unable to attend one or both meetings can email comments to LVPC Executive Director Becky A. Bradley, AICP, at ba*@lv**.org.

Lower Saucon Township Council could vote on a resolution to formally oppose the pipeline–which would bisect the northeastern section of the township–at its next meeting on Monday, Dec. 22 at 7 p.m. at Town Hall, 3700 Old Philadelphia Pike, Bethlehem. That meeting was rescheduled from Wednesday, Dec. 17.
A public forum about the pipeline that will feature scientists and environmentalists as guest speakers is scheduled to be held Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Leithsville fire station banquet hall in Lower Saucon Township.
Township officials decided to consider adopting such a resolution after hearing concerns about the proposed pipeline from property owners who would be affected by its construction.
