Chili Seasoning Kits Recalled Over Nut Allergen Concerns

Following a recall by Reily Foods Co., Giant Food Stores announced Saturday that it was removing from sale certain Carroll Shelby and Wick Fowler brand chili seasoning kits, following a recall by manufacturer Reily Foods Co.

In a news release, Giant said the kits have been recalled because they may contain peanut and almond allergens that are not declared on their ingredient statements.

Some Carroll Shelby White Chicken Chili 3 oz. seasoning kits have been recalled due to concerns over undeclared allergens.

“These products are safe to consume for individuals who do not suffer from a peanut or almond allergy,” the news release stated.

The following products are included in the recall:

  • Carroll Shelby Chili Mix, 4 oz., UPC 7239610000
  • Carroll Shelby White Chicken Chili, 3 oz., UPC 7239610019
  • Wick Fowler 2-Alarm Chili Kit, 3.625 oz., UPC 7109200069
  • Wick Fowler False Alarm Chili Kit, 3.25 oz., UPC 710920011

Giant said it hasn’t received any reports of illnesses due to consumption of the seasonings to date.

Customers who’ve purchased the recalled products can receive a full refund by bringing their purchase receipt to any Giant store.
