When Can Christmas Trees Be Dropped Off at SV Compost Center?

Est. Read Time: < 1 min

The Saucon Valley Compost Center at 2011 Springtown Hill Road, Hellertown, will be open Saturdays in January (Jan. 10, 17, 24 and 31) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for local residents to drop off Christmas trees and brush.

The compost center is located in Lower Saucon Township, and is open to residents of Hellertown and the township.

For residents without means to transport their trees to the compost center, Boy Scout Troop 416 is again offering curbside tree pickup on Saturday, Jan. 3 and Saturday, Jan. 10 in the borough of Hellertown and select Lower Saucon neighborhoods.

The cost of a pickup is $5 ($4 for senior citizens), and proceeds benefit the Scouts.

For more information, or to arrange a pickup, call 484-519-0489 or email

  • No. You just have to be a Hellertown/Lower Saucon resident to use the center and I believe you need an ID card–which you can get at either LST Hall or Hellertown Borough Hall.
