Giant Announces Food Product Recalls

Giant Food Stores announced that it was removing several food products from sale Friday, after the items were recalled.

The company said it removed from sale these Garden Lites and Franklin Farms products, which may contain peanuts, an allergen not listed on the ingredient label:

  • Garden Lites Southwestern Souffle, 7 oz., UPC 70486301720, with an expiration date of 4/5/2016, 5/18/2016 or 5/19/2016

  • Garden Lites Veggie Chili & Cornbread Melt, 7 oz., UPC 70486301726, with an expiration date of 4/26/2016
  • Franklin Farms Chili-Bean Veggiburger, 10 oz., 4 count package, UPC 44325120050, with Use/Freeze by dates of 1/25/2015 to 03/01/2015

Giant said it has received no reports of illnesses to date as a result of people consuming the recalled foods.

Customers who have purchased these products and would like refunds should discard any unused portions and bring their purchase receipt to any Giant store.
