Jeffrey R. Werkheiser, 58, of Bethlehem, died Monday, March 16, 2015 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Julia A. (Reccek) Werkheiser. He was born in Allentown on Jan. 13, 1957 to Kathryn L. (Shook) Werkheiser of Hellertown and the late Robert U. Werkheiser Jr. Jeff was an employment specialist for the intellectually disabled at Community Services Group, Bethlehem for 27 years. He was a 1974 graduate of Saucon Valley High School, a 1978 graduate of Moravian College and attended Gettysburg Theological Seminary. He was a faithful member of Christ Lutheran Church of Lower Saucon, where he was a past council member and had served on the Lower Saucon Cemetery Board. Jeff volunteered for Dewey Fire Co. and Ambulance in Hellertown as well as Habitat for Humanity, the Red Cross and Adopt-a-Highway (for 20 years). He was a longtime Musikfest volunteer, and a volunteer for Highmark Walk for a Better Community-Bethlehem and various other organizations.

SURVIVORS

In addition to his loving wife of 29 years; mother; sons: Ryan R. at home, Charles A. (Tiffany) of Marysville; brother: Randy A. “Skeeter” (Sandi) of Hellertown.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2015 at Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, 2190 Easton Road, Bethlehem, and will be followed by the interment at Lower Saucon Cemetery.
