A Hellertown gym that’s become more than just a place to shed some pounds or get ripped is reinforcing its image as a true all-around fitness destination for the Saucon Valley community, with improvements designed to both satisfy current clientele and attract new customers.
Main Street Gym recently completed flooring and other renovations to its front weight room and reception area, doubled the amount of cardio equipment in its back room, installed a new custom sign along Main Street and added flatscreen TVs and sanitation stations throughout the building.
Another change is the addition of two personal trainers to its award-winning staff, as well as an in-house massage therapist who meets with gym members by appointment.
An online reservation system for self-scheduling personal training appointments will be rolled out soon.
“I wanted to keep up with the industry, so I can keep offering the best facility, the best equipment and the best customer service,” gym owner Kevin Branco explained, when asked about his motivations for giving the gym a facelift.
“I run the business like a community center,” he said. “It should be a place where neighbors come to work out and see each other.”
That effort is readily apparent from reviews on the gym’s Yelp and Google Plus pages.
For example, Kenny R. recently wrote the following about Main Street Gym on Yelp:
“Clean, top notch professionalism and instruction (where needed!), countless recent upgrades… Owner is invested in the future of the establishment and works hard to offer a premium product while keeping the personal small town feel.”
Branco noted that the gym has extended its hours and now opens at 5:30 a.m. instead of 6 a.m., to better serve customers who like to get their workouts in early.
A variety of evening fitness classes are available, including step aerobics, Systema martial arts, Cardio Combat and Shape.
To celebrate Main Street Gym’s transformation, and to thank members for their patience while the remodeling was taking place, Branco is planning a party for Saturday, April 18 that will also coincide with the business’s anniversary.
Invitations to the party recently went out to hundreds of members, who are invited to bring guests to the event.
It will feature hors d’oeuvres catered by Sagra Bistro, an open bar, new member specials and more than $2,000 in raffle prizes, including gym memberships, apparel and a bicycle from Saucon Valley Bikes.
Invited guests should RSVP by emailing Branco at
