Hydrant Flushing in Hellertown Planned for Late April, Early May

Est. Read Time: < 1 min

Note: The following announcement is from Hellertown Borough Authority Administrator Glenn Higbie.

The system-wide flushing of the Hellertown Borough Authority’s water system is scheduled to begin soon.

The Authority will flush fire hydrants throughout the borough starting Monday, April 27 through Friday, May 1, and the following week starting Monday, May 4 through Friday, May 8 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Customers should expect to experience some discoloration or cloudiness in their water as the system is flushed, but once the flushing is completed each day the water will quickly clear. Customers should refrain from washing clothes or other laundry items during the work and minimize water usage to prevent sediment from being drawn into their facilities.

Customers whose phone numbers are on file with the Authority will be contacted in advance by the automated phone notification system at the beginning of each week.

Questions may be directed to the Authority at 610-838-8051 or in person at 501 Durham St., Hellertown.
