The Rev. Floyd P. Swart, 79, of Bethlehem Township, died Monday, April 20, 2015 at VNA Hospice House of St. Luke’s, Lower Saucon Township.floyd He was the husband of Linda (Stackhouse) Swart. He was born in Way, India on Feb. 3, 1936 to the late Winfield Q. and Lois L. (Andrews) Swart. Rev. Swart was the Pastor of First United Church of Christ, Hellertown, from 1979 to 1997, and spent six years at St. Peter’s UCC in West Seneca, N.Y., five years at Ventnor, N.J., two years in Clark, N.J., and four years in Newark, N.J. He attended Epworth United Methodist Church, Bethlehem. He was a 1962 graduate of Union Theological Seminary in New York City and Princeton Theological Seminary, Pastor Emeritus of First United Church of Christ, Hellertown, and past chairman of the Hellertown Area Ministerium. He served on numerous Penn Northeast Conference Committees, was a past board member of the Saucon Valley Community Center and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, Bethlehem.

SURVIVORS

In addition to his loving wife of 23 years; sons: R. Peter (Suzanne) Swart of Tunkhannock, Jonathan A. (Carolyn) Swart of Bethlehem; stepsons: Kerry C. (Kristi N. Gallew) Boehm of Lansdale, Keith M. (Lisa A.) Boehm of Hellertown; sister: Dorothea L. (Richard) Wells of Austin, Tex.; grandchildren: Kaylee Swart, R. Joseph Swart, Cody Boehm, Jacob Boehm, Julia Swart and Mara Swart. He was predeceased by a brother: Robert.

SERVICE

The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2015 at Epworth UMC, 3245 Oakland Road, Bethlehem. A family greeting period will be held after the service and during the luncheon. The interment will be private at Union Cemetery of Hellertown. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., Hellertown.
