Promenade Saucon Valley Celebrating 20th Anniversary in October
Promenade Saucon Valley is turning 20 years old, and in celebration of that anniversary the Upper Saucon Township lifestyle center is hosting special events and giveaways throughout the month of October.
The biggest celebration will be on Saturday, Oct. 17, when the shopping center will host its dog-themed festival, Barktoberfest.
As part of the 4th annual Barktoberfest, there will be a number of happenings, including:
• Limited-Edition 20th Anniversary Tote Bag Promotion: Spend $20 or more at any Promenade store, restaurant or service provider during Barktoberfest and receive a FREE limited-edition 20th Anniversary tote bag, while supplies last.
• $2,000 Anniversary Giveaway: Ten winners will each receive a $200 gift card to the Promenade retailer, restaurant or service provider of their choice. Winners must be present for the drawing at 2:15 p.m.
• Walk Down Memory Lane: Take a stroll through 20 years of Promenade Saucon Valley with photos and memories from its construction and 2006 grand opening through today!
• 20th Anniversary Ribbon Cutting with Southern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce: Join the chamber and Promenade staff at 2 p.m. as they officially commemorate 20 years of shopping, dining, events and community at Promenade Saucon Valley.
Promenade Saucon Valley is also marking the milestone anniversary with 20 Days of Deals throughout October. Participating businesses include Athleta, Barley Creek Taproom, Brooks Brothers, Color Me Mine, Dandelion, The Extra Pair, Kay Jewelers, L.L. Bean, Pandora, Red Robin, Sweet & Sassy, Turning Point and Yankee Candle. For more information on these promotions, visit the Promenade Saucon Valley website.
When Promenade Saucon Valley opened in October 2006, it was the first outdoor shopping center or “lifestyle center” in the Lehigh Valley. Over the past 20 years the complex has been home to dozens of restaurants, retailers and other businesses. In April 2024, amid other changes, the center’s name was changed from the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley to Promenade Saucon Valley.
A news release noted that several original tenants at the center are still in business there two decades later, along with newcomers like Norman’s Hallmark, Sephora and Wonder. The release also noted that an announcement about two future tenants is imminent.
“For 20 years, Promenade Saucon Valley has been more than a place to shop and dine. It has been a gathering place for our community,” Promenade Saucon Valley General Manager Patrick Turner said. “We’re incredibly grateful to the guests, tenants, employees and community partners who have been part of the Promenade’s story, whether they’ve been with us since opening day or discovered us more recently. This anniversary gives us an opportunity to celebrate those memories while also looking forward to the center’s next chapter.”
