Watershed Association’s Fall Dinner Will Feature Birder as Keynote Speaker

The Cooks Creek Watershed Association has announced that it will host its annual potluck fall dinner and silent auction fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015 at 5 p.m. at the Springtown Rod and Gun Club on Rt. 212 (Main Street) in Springtown.

The keynote speaker for this year’s dinner will be Howard B. Eskin, M.S., Ph.D.

Eskin is a member of the Bucks County Audubon Society and Bucks County Birders, as well as a recent graduate of Cornell University’s Masters of Ornithology Program, according to a news release from the watershed association.

“Mr. Eskin is a nature lover and photographer who is happy to share the results of his work with others,” the news release said.

His motivation for studying birds at the graduate level was simply that “he liked birds so much he wanted to know the science behind them,” it noted.

Birds have been Eskin’s photographic specialty over the past decade, and examples of his work will be on display at the Oct. 3 event.

Images shot by Eskin can also be viewed online.

The entrance to the Springtown Rod and Gun Club is the driveway between Village Automotive and Carol Dorey Real Estate.

Attendance is free and the event is open to the public.
