16-Year-Old Driver Crashed into Landfill Fence, Police Say

A 16-year-old boy from Bethlehem who was driving on Applebutter Road Saturday afternoon skidded off the road and crashed into a fence along the IESI Bethlehem Landfill property, Lower Saucon Township Police said in a news release Monday.

According to police, officers documented 106 feet of skidmarks on the roadway across the center yellow line leading to the fence.

Police said the boy was cited for speeding and careless driving.

They did not specify in the news release how much damage was caused.
