Daniel E. Baer, 62, of Upper Saucon Township, died Oct. 7, 2015 at his residence.
He was the husband of Jill E. (Hughes). Daniel was born in Fountain Hill on Aug. 20, 1953 to the late Frances (Graber) Baer and William H. of Upper Saucon Township. Daniel worked as a lieutenant firefighter for LVIA, retiring after 28 years. He served as an instructor for the state fire academy for many years. Daniel was a devoted officer and lifelong member of Coopersburg Volunteer Fire Company for 48 years, as well as the former Coopersburg Ambulance Corps as an EMT.
SURVIVORS
In addition to his loving wife of 41 years, sons: Phillip J. and his companion Alexandra of Center Valley and Jason D. and Tara L. Baer; four grandchildren; mother-in-law: Ethel Hughes of Center Valley; sister-in-law: Janet Hughes wife of Richard of South Carolina and Jody Hughes of Center Valley; nieces and nephews: Craig and Tammy Baer of Bethlehem, Thomas and Kelly Baer of Bethlehem and Sarah Hughes of Alburtis.
SERVICE
Family and friends are invited to call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015 at the Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, 6782 N. Main St., Coopersburg, PA 18036.
