Dead Chickens Found in Steel City, Foul Play Not Suspected, Police Say

Est. Read Time: < 1 min

Lower Saucon Township Police said Friday they’re investigating an animal complaint that does not appear to be suspicious in Steel City.

In a news release, police said a resident of the 2100 block of Saucon Avenue called Thursday afternoon to report that her chickens had been killed.

“There were paw prints inside the chicken pen, which led officers to believe there was no foul play (involved),” police said.

Anyone with information about stray animals in the area is asked to call township police at 610-317-6110.

In June there were fears that stray cats found in Steel City might have been poisoned, but an investigation later revealed the cats had died from disease.
