Amy Thomson Moses (Class 0f 1996) and John Killar (Class of 1991) were proudly inducted into the Saucon Valley Sports Hall of Fame

 

Wednesday night the Saucon Valley Athletic Booster Club in conjunction with the Saucon Valley Athletic Department held their Fall Athletic Awards ceremony and Hall of Fame inductions. Amy Thomson Moses and John Killar were the 2015 inductees. Let’s recognize the legendary duo!

Amy Thomson Moses

Amy is a 1996 graduate of Saucon Valley high school. She was a three-sport athlete participating in field hockey, basketball and track. Basketball is certainly where Amy made her biggest mark. She was named the team’s four-time most valuable player and a three-time Colonial League All-Star.

Amy’s Accolades

1994 – Colonial League Girls Basketball Scoring Champion

1996 – Morning Call 1st Team All-Area

1996 – Saucon Valley Female Athlete of the Year

1,233 Career Rebounds (Girls Basketball School Record)

1,755 Career Points (Girls Basketball School Record, All-Time Leading Scorer)

Amy continued her education and basketball career at Lehigh University and was a member of Lehigh’s 1996-1997 Patriot League Championship Team. She was also a member of Lehigh’s 1997 NCAA Tournament Team.

John Killar

John, a 1991 graduate from Saucon Valley, was also a multi-sport athlete. A standout competitor in wrestling, track and baseball, John claimed most of his recognition in football as a running back.

John’s Accolades

1989 – 1,339 Yards Rushing (broke Saucon’s Single Season Rushing Record)

1990 – 1,231 Yards Rushing (broke Saucon’s 34 year-old Career Rushing Record of 2,779 yards)

1990 – National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame Scholar Athlete

2-Time Colonial League 1st Team Football All-Star (offense)

2-Time Colonial League Honorable Mention Football (defense)

2-Time Globe-Times All-City 1st Team Football All-Star (offense)

1991 – Pennsylvania Big 33 Nominee

1991 – McDonald’s Lehigh Valley All-Star Football Classic Player

John went on to continue his football and wrestling career at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.

Both Amy and John made heartfelt remarks during which they spoke fondly of their experiences at Saucon Valley. They were both very gracious, thanking past coaches and crediting much of their success to family and former teammates.
