Grace M. Scala, 96, of Lower Saucon Township, died Monday, Feb. 22, 2016 at her residence.

Grace M. Scala, 96, of Lower Saucon Township, died Monday, Feb. 22, 2016 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Eugene J. Scala (died Dec. 8, 2011). She was born in South Plainfield, N.J., on Feb. 8, 1920 to the late Frank and Anna (Pellegrino) Butrico. Grace was a beloved wife and a wonderful mother. A talented cook and skilled seamstress, she always loved dancing at parties and loved to relax watching her soaps and game shows with a cup of tea. She lived for family traditions. Grace adored her great-grandchildren, who will remember Christmas stockings, penny tossing and giving hugs and kisses.

SURVIVORS

Children: Linda C. (John C.) Finkbeiner of Hellertown, Donald Scala of Allentown; three grandchildren: Stephanie Mann, Cheryl Vlahakis, Matthew Finkbeiner; four great-grandchildren: Abbigail Mann, Gabrielle Mann, Gavin Vlahakis, Adalyn Finkbeiner.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2016 and 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 1408 Easton Road, Hellertown. The entombment will conclude services at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.

CONTRIBUTIONS

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the VNA Hospice of St. Luke’s, 240 Union Station, 1st Floor, Bethlehem, PA 18015.
