Hello, my name is Michaelangelo, but you can call me Michael. Everyone does.13405713_10210022759835246_785007393_o I am a four-year-old, cute-as-a-button rat terrier who quite frankly owes his life to the Center for Animal Health and Welfare. That’s right, they pulled me from a high-kill shelter who probably would’ve ended up putting me down because they didn’t consider me to be 100 percent adoptable. What the heck? Nobody is perfect people, and I will be the first one to admit I have some flaws. Sometimes I am insecure meeting new people, but if you go slow with me and let me go at my own pace, I come around rather quickly. I am really food-motivated too, so that helps to speed up the process. I am always eager to get out for a walk, but if we go more than a short distance, I will put on the breaks and expect to be carried. When you first pick me up, wrap me in a blanket, just in case I get a little nippy–because like most small dogs I do get my ‘tude on now and then. I would prefer to be the only pet, but there are some little dogs I might be able to work things out with, so we will cross that path if and when we come to it. For now I’m gonna say no to small children as well, because of the previous discussed attitude thing, but I think with most adults, we will get to know each other fine. If you want to meet me, the staff would be happy to introduce us and start the process of building a friendship. I know my forever home is right around the corner!
