Robert J. Gasdaska Sr., 82, of Fountain Hill, died Friday, July 29, 2016 at his residence.

Robert J. Gasdaska Sr., 82, of Fountain Hill, died Friday, July 29, 2016 at his residence. He was the husband of Margaret E. “Peggy” (Ortwein) Gasdaska. He was born in Bethlehem on April 24, 1934 to the late George Gasdaska and Anna (Ammend) Gasdaska. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Marine Corps during peacetime. Robert was a master carpenter at the Bethlehem Steel Co. for 30 years until retiring in 1984. He was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Bethlehem. Robert enjoyed fantasy football, shooting pool and spending time with his grandchildren.

SURVIVORS

In addition to his wife of 62 years; children: Susan Ann (Robert D.) Takach of Fountain Hill, Robert J. (Louise M.) Gasdaska Jr. of Fountain Hill; brother: George (Jeanette) Gasdaska of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren: Dennis (Tara) Takach, Zachary Gasdaska; great-grandchildren: Aiden and Ryan Takach. He was predeceased by siblings: William, Frances Turanchick, Teresa Takach.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 11 a.m. The interment will conclude services at Holy Ghost Cemetery, Bethlehem.
