Regina D. Brown, 94, of Hellertown, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016 at VNA Hospice House of St. Luke’s, Lower Saucon Township. She served our country faithfully in the U.S. Army during World War II, earning the rank of Sergeant while serving in the European Theater.

Regina D. Brown, 94, of Hellertown, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016 at VNA Hospice House of St. Luke’s, Lower Saucon Township. She was the wife of the late Leon A. Brown, who died on Oct. 17, 1976. She was born in Philadelphia on March 15, 1922 to the late William A. and Mary Ellen (Bonner) Donnelly. She served our country faithfully in the U.S. Army during World War II, earning the rank of Sergeant while serving in the European Theater. Upon graduating from Kutztown Teachers’ College she worked for 25 years as an elementary school teacher for the Bethlehem Area School District until retiring. She was a member of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Hellertown; Edward H. Ackerman American Legion Post 397, Hellertown; Veterans of Foreign Wars; the Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA); and was a former member of Silver Creek Country Club. Regina was an avid bingo player and participated in several card clubs.  She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much.

SURVIVORS

Loving sons: Keith W. (Brenda) Brown of Bethlehem, Kevin D. (Milou) Brown of Lower Saucon Township, Kim L. Brown of Hellertown, Douglas S. Brown of Allentown; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a niece, Shirley Geleta. She was predeceased by 10 siblings: William, Jack, Leonard, Edward, Donald, Paul, Dorothy Lipko, Alice Crockett, Nelda Steele and Betty Boyle.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, 2016 at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 1408 Easton Road, Hellertown. The interment with military honors will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.
