Where to Get a Free Thanksgiving Meal in the Lehigh Valley

Nine Lehigh Valley churches and organizations will be offering free Thanksgiving meals to the community this November.

Nine Lehigh Valley churches and organizations will be offering free Thanksgiving meals to the community this November. Some locations will also offer free home-delivered meals, or transportation arrangements for those area residents who aren’t able to drive themselves.

United Way’s PA 2-1-1 East has compiled a list of the dates, locations and times when local residents can celebrate Thanksgiving with a hot meal and warm fellowship. Please note that some locations require that reservations be made by a specific date.

Saturday, Nov. 19

  • Everlasting Life Ministries at Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, 224 N. Sixth St., Allentown, Pa., 12 to 3 p.m. Donations of turkeys, baked and canned goods and fresh fruit accepted. Call 610-776-4009 for more information.

 

  • St. James A.M.E. Zion Church, 401 W. Union St., Allentown, Pa., 12 to 3 p.m. Home-delivered meals may be arranged. Call 2-1-1 for a private contact number by Nov. 16, 2016.

 

  • Trinity Episcopal Church, 41 N. Third St., Easton, Pa. (front Third Street door at Third Street Alliance for Women and Children), 12 p.m. Call 610-253-0792 for more information.

Thursday, Nov. 24 (Thanksgiving Day)

  • Jordan United Church of Christ, 1837 Church Road, Allentown, Pa. (corner of Rt. 309 and Walbert Avenue), 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call 610-395-2218 for more information.
  • New Bethany Ministries at Mollard Hospitality Center, 341 W. Fourth St., Bethlehem, Pa., 12 to 1 p.m. Call 610-691-5602 for more information.
  • St. John’s Lutheran Church, 206 E. Main St., Bath, Pa., 12 p.m. Reservations required as soon as possible. Call 610-837-1061.
  • St. John’s United Church of Christ, 15 S. Second St., Slatington, Pa., 12 to 2 p.m. Transportation and home-delivered meals for Northern Lehigh area residents may be arranged. Contact the church for details at 610-767-5554.
  • St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fellowship Hall, 36 S. Eighth St., Allentown, Pa., 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Call 610-435-9065 for information.
  • St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, 1421 W. Turner St., Allentown, Pa., 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call 610-439-8821 for information.
