The popular teen and young adult clothing store Aeropostale is closing its store in the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley in Center Valley.

As of Monday everything in the store was discounted 70 percent, and the store was expected to remain open for only a couple of days. The Aeroostale website was also discounting everything by 70 percent Monday, which is Cyber Monday, when many merchants offer special deals for online shoppers.

Aeropostale has experienced economic misfortune in the past year, being delisted by the New York Stock Exchange before filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the spring.

As part of the Chapter 11 process, the retailer announced it would be closing dozens of stores across the country, although the Upper Saucon Township store was not on a list of “all the stores” that were reported to be closing published by Fortune magazine in May.

Locally, Aeropostale also has a store at the Lehigh Valley Mall in Whitehall which will remain open along with 503 other stores nationwide, according to the company’s website. A total of nine stores in Pennsylvania are closing according to the website, which lists the Promenade Shops store on its “Closing Stores” list.

The Promenade Shops Aeropostale is located in Suite 420 near Red Robin and Carmike cinemas, at the eastern end of the outdoor shopping center on Center Valley Parkway.

The store’s phone number is 610-797-8418.
