On the eleventh day of highlighting Panther football record holders, Saucon Source wants to recognize senior Josh Snead.
Josh wore #1 for the Panthers. He stands 5’10” and weighs 150. A standout soccer and basketball player, Josh has a significant presence in the Saucon Valley football record books as a kicker.
1. Josh is 16th overall, but the top kicker for points scored in a career (125).
2. Josh is listed 1st for PAT’s (extra point kicks) in a season with 74 in 2015.
3. Josh is 1st in career PAT’s (119).
4. Josh is 1st in career kickoff yardage with 6,563 total yards.
5. Josh hit a 40 yard field goal that is the 3rd longest in school history. Nate Schriffert (2012) is tops with his field goal from 43 yards.
Josh said it: “My best Saucon football memory is when I got to attempt my first field goal after a season and a half of kicking.”
Coach Phil Sams said it: “Josh Snead is an extremely athletic person who does not get enough credit for what he can do. Not only is he arguably the best kicker Saucon Valley has ever seen, but he also saved more than a few touchdowns on kickoff in the beginning of the season when our kickoff coverage team was struggling. If Josh played football full time he would have also likely been a two way starter for us.”
Congratulations, Josh, and best wishes in the future. The Source is with you!
