Jeremiah W.P. ‘Jerry’ Donnelly, 78, of Hellertown, died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017 at St. Luke’s University Hospital, Fountain Hill.

Jeremiah W.P. “Jerry” Donnelly, 78, of Hellertown, died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017 at St. Luke’s University Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Diane I. (Zimpfer) Donnelly. He was born in Springfield Township on May 16, 1938 to the late John R. Donnelly Sr. and Agnes (Quarry). He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Army during peacetime. Jerry was a realtor in the Saucon Valley area for many years. He had also owned and operated the former Jerry’s Airport Inn, Hellertown, and was a police officer for the Borough of Hellertown. He served on Hellertown Borough Council for several terms.

SURVIVORS

In addition to his loving wife of 55 years; children: Stacy L. (Donald J.) Sanders of Naples, Fla., Scott J. of Hellertown, Colleen P. Dengel of Manahawkin, N.J.; sister: Patricia A. (Barry L.) Wentzel of Hellertown; sister-in-law: Elaine (Belletti) Donnelly of Hellertown; five grandchildren: Courtney, Zachary, Carly, Robbie, Cori. He was predeceased by son: Daniel Patrick; and brother: John R. “Jack” Donnelly Jr.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, and 10:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour Friday morning will be followed by the service at 11 a.m. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown. CONTRIBUTIONS

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Borough of Hellertown (fund for tree-planting at the Heller-Wagner Grist Mill), care of the funeral home (zip code: 18055).
