Elizabeth G. “Betty” “Girlie” Quier, 92, of Lower Saucon Township died Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Weston Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Lower Saucon Township.
She was the wife of the late Leon C. “Jim” Quier, who died July 13, 2009. Betty was born in Freemansburg on March 5, 1925 to the late James and Ruth (Sharer) Davis. She was a seamstress for R.K. Laris Mills, Bethlehem for nine years until 1949. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Hellertown. Betty was a phenomenal baker and cook. She loved preserving her home-grown vegetables. Betty enjoyed chair caning, ceramics and quilting. She was a wonderful person who gave of herself for others and enjoyed teaching her gifts to her family.

Loving children: Janet R. (Thomas A.) Engleman of Lower Saucon Township, David P. (Sandra A.) Quier of Bethlehem Township, Linnet M. Hill (Robert P. McComsey) of Lower Saucon Township, Lori L. (Thomas H.) Phillippi of Lower Saucon Township; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by siblings: Paul and James.
SERVICE
Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2017 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 11 a.m. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
