Man Threw Glass Smoking Pipe Out Car Window in Front of Officer, Police Say

An Easton man is accused of possessing a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, Hellertown Police said in a news release Friday.

An Easton man is accused of possessing a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, Hellertown Police said in a news release Friday.

According to police, Cayne J. Taylor, 40, of the 1400 block of Northampton Street, was driving a Buick sedan when he was stopped in the 1700 block of Main Street at the I-78 eastbound on-ramp shortly before 2 a.m. June 4.

“Upon conducting a vehicle stop by (the) officer on the I-78 East entry ramp, (Taylor) threw a clear glass smoking pipe (about 4 inches in length) out of his open passenger window into the high grass next to this highway entrance ramp,” police said.

After the officer retrieved the pipe, police said “Taylor explained to (the) officer this was his pipe used to smoke marijuana and hash oil.”

The pipe allegedly had marijuana and hash oil residue in it, police said.

In addition the possession charges, Taylor was also cited for allegedly driving without registration, driving without a license and littering, according to the police news release.
