On the fifth day of highlighting Panther football record holders, Saucon Source wants to recognize junior Ian Csicsek.

Playing a variety of positions for the Panthers, Ian wears #28. He stands 5’10” and weighs 185.  Offensively, Ian averaged 7.9 yards per carry and scored 6 touchdowns for the Panthers this season. Defensively, he was recognized as an Honorable Mention Colonial League All-Star outside linebacker. Ian gathered 29 Season Tackle Assists which earns him the 17th spot in that category.  He totals 33 Career Tackle Assists which ties him in the 24th spot.

Who’s #1 Season Tackle Assists? Christian Carvis (2015) gathered 82 assists.

Who’s #1 for Career Tackle Assists? Christian Carvis (2012-2015), had 129 assists throughout his career.

Ian said it: “My best memory so far is when we were playing at Pottsville in the District XI semifinals. The game was coming down to the final seconds, and Pottsville needed a score to win. They put their running back one on one against me, and I knew they were gonna try to go deep on me. Their quarterback threw the ball my way, and I was right on top of their guy and broke the pass up. The next play, they tried passing again and they failed, and we moved on to the finals.”

Coach Sams said it: ” Ian was an honorable mention outside linebacker for us in 2017.  Ian is arguably our hardest working football player on the team.  He has played everywhere for us.  He started at corner back at the beginning of the year and made the transition to outside linebacker.  He made the transition look easy as he made an immediate impact.  What makes him so special is the fact that he is physical enough to play almost any position.  What makes him even more special is the fact that he is very athletic.  Ian also was our backup running back.  For the Northwestern Lehigh game he had to start due to Zach Petiet’s injury.  Ian was named game MVP after running for over 150 yards in that game.  Furthermore, Ian is a force on special teams.  We cannot wait to see what he brings to the table in 2018 and we know he will do everything he can to make himself a better football player.”

Congratulations Ian, and best wishes in the future. The Source is with you!
